This is a new one for 18 year old Sidney Crosby hockey career, not being good enough to play for team Canada. Crosby has always played hockey and the Olympic team would have been a nice gesture for this young and upcoming star. Did this surprise Crosby? Not really his international experience was almost nonexistent so being left off wasn’t a total shock to him.

I don’t really understand Team Canada’s thinking on this one, when you can have one of the youngest talents in all of the NHL on your team. I mean how do you get better against international competition if your not even put on the team. According to sources Mario Lemieux pushed for Crosby to be included but his efforts apparently were in vain.

Crosby will have many chances to play for Team Canada and when he gets his chance I’m sure he will show everybody why he’s considered one of the top talents already. For now Crosby will have to be content watching Team Canada on television and thinking about what could have been. This will go down a controversial decision and if Team Canada doesn’t win gold they may look back and wish they had the wonder kid on the team.
