NASCAR fans are getting that itch when they see the month of January as the Daytona 500 the granddaddy of all auto raceswill be here shortly. This year’s race should have some very interesting subplots to it. Bill Elliott one of the most popular drivers of all time will be back for another try at the Daytona 500. Terry Labonte will be racing a car prepared by the team of Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. It will be interesting to see how a team of former football players tries to conqueror the NASCAR world.

Then you have Kurt Busch who is trying to repair his image after his arrest in Phoenix last fall. Tony Stewart the defending Nextel Champion will try doing something no one has done in awhile defend the Championship. Will Jimmy Johnson and Greg Biffle be able to bring the Championship home or will it be someone for the first time? This is the time of year where everyone has a chance and the Daytona 500 will launch everyone’s dream, but only one will be able to claim it in November. The one who survives the chase will definitely have earned their place as Nextel Champion and usually add a legion of fans in the process.
