The worst offense in the NBA belongs to the Portland Trailblazers. I’m not sure if they should be proud or not, but I feel embarrassed watching their offense function. It might not be so bad if they had a defense that could keep them in games, but they don’t. This explains why they find themselves 12 games below 500 at the halfway point.
I get bored watching the Trailblazers play. Their offense moves so slowly. They remind me of the Spurs sometimes, only they can’t score like the Spurs. They don’t have a Tim Duncan, or a Tony Parker, or even a Manu Ginobili. What they do have is Zach Randolph, but even he is having an off year compared to years past. Last year, there was a point where I was considering Randolph for MVP. Now he is not even the high scorer on his team. That title belongs to Darius Miles. In the off-season, they should probably try and find some players to help out this pitiful offense.
With the “worst offensive team” title belonging to the Trailblazers, they also get the “horrible defense” award as well. They might not be the worst defense in the League, but the reason they don’t win more games, other than the fact that they struggle scoring, is the fact that they play catch up almost every game, all game long. Maybe if they ever had a lead in a game, they would do a little better, but when your defense can’t stop anyone, it’s hard to get that lead.
