Rivals.com Top 20 Released

The college football season isn’t even a couple weeks old and a preseason Top 10 poll has come out and it has some interesting projections. I thought I would give my two cents on it. The poll was released by Rivals.com.

They have as their number one team the Ohio State Buckeyes who bring back Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr, but have a lot of holes on the defensive side of the ball. Tressell has done a great job bringing talent in this year and should be at the top again.

Second are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish who lost to the Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl this year. It will be interesting to see if Charlie Weiss can continue to work his magic at Notre Dame.

Third is West Virginia who had a remarkable season and teams will not overlook them this year. They bring back their top two offensive threats in Pat White and Steve Slaton. Look for the Mountaineers to have another good season.

Fourth is Southern Cal who lost a lot of talent, but still have many good players. Personally I think this ranking is a little high consider all they lost but we will see.

Fifth is LSU a team that destroyed the Miami Hurricanes in the Peach Bowl. I personally like this team a lot and I have them as the number two team in the nation. They have a lot of talent and should be ranked higher.

Sixth are the Texas Longhorns. I think this team could surprise a lot of people this coming year. Losing Vince Young will hurt a lot, but there still loaded.

The rest of the top ten are.

7. Auburn
8. Florida
9. Oklahoma
10. Miami
