Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings sit 10 games behind Phoenix for the last spot in the Pacific Division. What has happened to them? Disappointing is the first word that comes to mind when I think of the Kings; however, they have made a change to spark their defense. Ron Artest should put this team on the right path towards recovery. Let’s just hope he doesn’t implode and cause the Kings even more problems.

On offense the kings are not as explosive. Peja was having an off year. They don’t have to worry about that anymore, but for the first half, he couldn’t lift the Kings over the top. Artest is a solid offense of player and can put up similar numbers to Peja on offense. Mike Bibby and Brad Miller are having decent years, but it just seems like ever since Webber left, Bibby has become depressed. He seems slower these days. Maybe it’s just “old” age.

Now, the Sacramento Kings will be much better on defense. No offense to Peja, but he is not a very good defensive player. Ron Artest, however, is the best defensive player in the league. He is averaging 4 steals a game. That’s right; 4! He will provide many more fast break opportunities and lead to easy lay-ups. The offense will benefit from his defense and the Kings will slowly work their way back up to the top of their division. This was an excellent trade by the Kings.
