The Texas Longhorn basketball team got some help from someone they really didn’t count on. With P.J Tucker and LaMarcus Aldridge there two big guns being held to only a field goal a piece Daniel Gibson step to the forefront and put in a career high 37 points with nine three pointers to lead Texas to a 66-47 win over the Baylor Bears. Texas remains perfect since there back to back losses to Duke and Tennessee. Gibson was shooting when he wanted and everything seems to drop for him said teammate Brad Buckmann who had ten points in the second half himself.

Baylor has continued on there slide since Dave Bliss and his NCAA violations happened a few years ago. The Bears have now lost eighteen games in a row and their longest losing streak is 23 in a row, the way there going that could be in reach this season. Rick Barnes the coach for Texas is a perfect 16-0 against the Bears and Texas leads the series 147-75.

Since the losses to Duke and Tennessee Texas has played superb defense limiting teams to shoot no better than 40 percent. Barnes have been on his team about there defense and it seems to be working by the results he has obtained.
